It’s because of the overarching love of the arts, especially music arts, that the Greeley Philharmonic Guild embraced all that the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra in Greeley, Colorado offers our community. Throughout 114 seasons of performance, its extraordinary musical presentation has reached and been appreciated by diverse audiences all along the front range.
As Ambassadors for the GPO we help preserve its historic presence and its impact that reaches deep into the music education of our youth in District 6 schools as well as the on-going, healing efforts offered in the ‘Music Meets Medicine’ campaign with local hospitals and mental health facilities. Music is the universal language, and we want our neighbors to realize the availability and affordability of an experience so beautiful and life-changing…symphonic music!
Our purpose and pleasure each year by pledging our financial support to the GPO is to create, organize and host one-of-a-kind events that appeal to a broad audience, enrich our community relationships and ultimately elevate awareness of the gem that our orchestra really is, giving them reason, desire and opportunity to experience it first-hand.
Our ultimate goal is to keep the orchestra playing music that will continue to inspire, uplift, bring healing and peace-of-mind to each of us for generations to come.
More than 50 years ago, six supporters of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra founded the Greeley Philharmonic Guild, an organization dedicated to carrying out financial, educational and social activities for the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. The Guild idea originated with Howard Skinner, who had just been hired as conductor and music director. Today, the Guild provides a large percentage of the financial support needed by the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra through a variety of fundraising activities.
New friendships are established and old ones strengthened as members work together on projects to meet a common goal. Membership is open to anyone wishing to become involved in volunteer efforts to support the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra.
